When Rachel, an innocent, determined young woman with unique challenges stemming from serious brain lesions, is accepted to a top tech university to pursue her dreams of mathematics, her parents are proud but anxious.
After her roommate unfairly manipulates the system to her advantage, Rachel and her
family are plunged into a Kafkaesque nightmare of irrational rules and regulations more akin to a Stalinist state than a modern American university.
Her proactive father, Dr. Ben Lehrer, is shocked to learn that despite all efforts of the
many well intentioned university officials, as well as Rachel’s guiltlessness, they are unable to assist because their hands are tied by the convoluted system.
The draconian Office of Truth, where the rules of fairness and common sense do not apply, looms dangerously to halt Rachel in her tracks.
Intent upon justice and changing the system, Rachel takes matters into her own hands, risking her reputation, her graduation and her entire future to ensure that no one else suffers the abuses of an unfair system.
Can innocence, faith in justice and hard work overcome irrationality?
